A sliding shower door is more commonly found in older flats as recent trends have homeowners choosing tempered glass for as their choice of shower divider. In most cases, the sliding shower door is made of plastic material and a common issue is the break in the bottom clip.
There is a glass design for such sliding shower door too and in this case the issue one would frequently face is the top roller getting spoiled.
Above are some sample of bathroom sliding door and the roller used in them. The example on the right is an older version of sliding door. The parts are not readily available and a replacement of the whole set might be needed.
The left pic is a new version and parts are more readily available. We can also switch from the old version to the new one if needed. Both shower door repair are usually due to the same common problem as below.
Possible repair work:
- replacement of roller. This is especially evident if the sliding is not smooth
- replacement of glass due to shattering of original glass.
